The Women's College was established in 1892 and is historically significant as the first residential, university college for women in Australia.
In 2012, the College is 120 years old and we have established an enviable tradition of academic excellence in the intellectually supportive environment that College provides for women students studying at the University of Sydney.
Maintaining our reputation of academic excellence and continuing to provide appropriate facilities for our student community are important strategic concerns for the College. A new College Master Plan, commissioned in 2011, promises to deliver a number of new student rooms, expanding the College from 283 to 320 students, and a range of improved facilities. These developments will allow the College to meet emerging patterns of demand while protecting the vibrancy and cohesiveness of our community.
