Overseas students are welcomed at The Women’s College.
Our community is accepting and inclusive, and has a great mix of people from all over Australia and the world. The College has no religious affiliation. We accept women applicants from all faiths and cultures, studying both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the University of Sydney, who are willing to be involved in College life.
The Women’s College keeps a number of places annually for international students, either on exchange for a semester, or doing their whole degree at the University of Sydney. The application process involves an interview (via phone or Skype if necessary). Applications for residence in 2013 are now open and will close for International Students on Friday, 11 January 2013.
The College provides special support for students coming to study who may be away from home for the first time. Our Resident Assistants and residential staff assist students to settle into College, the University, and Sydney. Women’s College also has an international student convenor who has first-hand experience of the challenges and rewards of being an international student in Australia.
The College offers full board accommodation and caters to a variety of food choices, including special diets. The dining hall serves cuisine from around the world, and offers many choices at every meal, justifying its reputation as the best College food on campus.
If you’re an international student who is looking for a home away from home, Women’s would welcome your application. The College offers an instant community of friends, in a safe and secure environment on the University of Sydney campus. It provides academic support, a lively social network, and the opportunity to participate in a range of cultural activities.
