The Women’s College is an autonomous, independent, non-denominational residential College affiliated with the University of Sydney. The College is proud of its traditions of academic excellence and leadership for women. Students are encouraged and expected to strive for their best in their studies in an environment which nurtures and supports intellectual endeavour. The College provides a comprehensive tutorial system as well as encouraging involvement in other cultural, musical and sporting activities.
The Principal is the Chief Executive Officer of the College and is responsible to the Council for the management of the College. The Principal is expected to provide leadership within the College community and promote the College and the status of women in the wider community. The Principal also plays a key mentoring and counselling role to students.
The appointee will have the necessary academic credentials to gain the respect of the College and University communities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to understand the needs and problems of young adults are essential. Broad general management experience is also sought which will demonstrate staff management, fund raising, business planning and team building skills.
The Council will negotiate a remuneration package (including car) to attract the appropriate person to this position. A two bedroom apartment within the College is provided along with full board.
